Heidi Montag Net Worth History:
Heidi Blair Montag was worth millions of dollars due to her work on several different reality shows. In the mid 2000’s, Heidi gained recognition for her work on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The show displayed Heidi Montag’s lavish lifestyle with her friend Lauren Conrad. In 2006, Heidi starred in The Hills, a spin off of her previous reality show and its socialite premise was the same as The Real Orange County, only this time the show added two more of her wealthy friends (Whitney Port and Adurina Patridge). Both reality shows received the highest ratings. Heidi and her husband also made an appearance on the celebrity show “Big Brother” reality show in the U.K. Heidi also did modeling on the side with capturing magazine covers. Heidi also tried her hand at making music recordings, with her song “Body Language” which did not do well with critics or audiences. In 2008, Montag appears on the cover of Maxim and on a Rolling Stone magazine cover with her former besties: Conrad, Patridge, and Port. In 2009, Heidi kept up her modeling job by landing a cover and a centerfold in Playboy Magazine. In November of 2009, Heidi underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day in preparation for additional magazine covers, like “People Magazine” in January 2010.
About Heidi Montag:
Heidi Montag was born to Darlene Darlene Egelhoff and Bill Montag in Colorado. Her parents divorced when Heidi was a child and her mother remarried a well-to-do restaurateur, who owned a popular establishment in Crested Butte which operated for 21 years until it closed in 2010. Ms. Montage has an older sister who also made an appearance on The Hills and she has a younger brother. Her father later married and Heidi had a step-brother who passed away in 2008 during a freak accident. After Heidi graduated from high school, she attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for one semester. It was here that she met Lauren Conrad, who became her best friend. They both transferred to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
Heidi did not like the school and she soon dropped out and found work with Bolthouse Productions as a secretary and after two years, she was promoted to an event planner. Around the same time, Ms. Montag began dating Spencer Pratt who also had some roles in reality series like the “Princes of Malibu.” In 2008 while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Montag and Pratt eloped. Mom and dad were not happy! The wedding was filmed by MTV for its season five show of The Hills, but it was not seen in the United States because California does not recognize marriages outside of the country. With everyone’s disatisfaction on the elopement, Heidi, age 22 and Spencer, age 25, held an evening marriage ceremony in April, 2009 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena California. They exchanged their vows before a small group of family and friends, including Brody Jenner and Audrina Patridge.
Unfortunately, the millions that were amassed by Heidi and Spencer has dwindled down to a few thousand dollars. Due to their lavish spending for numerous cosmetic surgeries, million dollar clothing items and accessories, lavish parties, expensive meals out, helping friends, and the odd obsession of collecting crystals that were designed to bring positive energy, their wealth dwindled quickly. However, their biggest fortune misspent, went into a musical venture to produce a music album for Heidi. Heidi paid for producers, studio time, photo shoots, videos and other promotional material to debut an album, she called “Superficial.” It is reported that they probably spent more than $2.5 million on the album which sold only 6,000 copies in total.
Despite blowing through millions, Heidi and her husband are looking to perhaps film a new documentary or perhaps star in another reality show. However, Heidi admits that life is still good and they are happier now than before and that they are wiser to not allow people to manipulate them anymore.
