John Travolta made his acting debut in an off Broadway production of “Rain” in 1972 and then joined the Broadway cast of “Grease”.
Vinnie Barbarino was his character on the hit television series “Welcome Back Kotter” back in 1975. A year later, he was cast as the lead in the made for TV movie “The Boy in the Plastic Bubble”. The success of both “Saturday Night Fever” (1977) and “Grease” (1978) gained Travolta international fame.

John is the youngest of six (6) children born to Helen and Salvatore Travolta. His Italian father owned a tire repair shop in Hillsdale, New Jersey that was known as Travolta Tires. His Irish mother was a dancer and actress and enrolled John in a school dedicated to drama where he studies dance, acting and singing.
John married Kelley Preston on September 5, 1991 and together they had three children. (Jett was born in 1992 and died in 2009 due to a seizure, Ella Bleu was born in 2000 and Benjamin was born in 2010.
John Travolta holds eleven (11) jet licenses including, but not limited to: 747, 707, Lear 24, Gulfstream II and a Hawker 1251A. After New Orleans was hit with a severe hurricane in 2005, John flew a 707 to bring medical supplies and food to the affected area. In 2010, he once again flew the 707 carrying doctors, volunteers and supplies to Haiti after the area was hit with a devastating earthquake.
John and his wife, Kelly, are very involved with charity work and have created their own foundation in memory of their son known as the “Jett Travolta Foundation”. The goal of this foundation is to raise monies for children that require special educational needs. John Travolta, the boy with the New Jersey accent speaks fluent French.
The Travolta owns several homes – one in Santa Barbara, CA; one in Ocala, FL; Maine and Hawaii. Their Florida home is considered their main residence and it is large enough to accommodate an airstrip for his personal airplanes and horses for his wife.
