About Macaulay Culkin

Macaulay is the third child with 6 other siblings. His parents divorced and fought bitterly over Macaulay’s phenomenal earnings, making news regularly and some believe that the breakup led to Macauley’s emotional issues. He spent his early years in the custody of his mother, studying at Blanchine’s School fo the American Ballet, studying the performing arts. He captured the hearts and pocketbooks of millions of viewers with ratings and film earnings giving him a comfortable nest egg. His popularity began to diminish after his role in My Girl (1991). He continued acting, starring roles in The Good Son (1993) as a disturbed teenager and with Richie Rich (1994) and although the films did well enough in popularity and earnings at the box office, they could not compare with his prior works.

After his parents divorced and Culkin came of age, he took the freedom to manage his own career and business affairs and stated that he was retiring. Although he continued acting, it was without fanfare and he began to quietly slip into anonymity.

Macaulay married fellow actress Rachel Miner in 1998 at the age of 18 but separated from her in 2000. His relationship with actress Mila Kunis lasted from 2002 to 2011 and he is currently single. He was arrested in the Fall of 2004 for possession of marijuana along with other illegal substances. He avoided jail time and instead was given a year’s deferred sentence for each and paid minimal court fees. Culkin had a troubled childhood as he rose to super stardom at the young age of 10 and was forced to deal with problems at home. Culkin’s father Kit, who was accused of mismanaging Macauley’s fortune has recently had a stroke and is living in Oregon. There are no plans for the two to reunite even though Kit is nearing death.

Most recently, Culkin starred in Party Monster (2003) which is a true story about the life of a club promoter. In 2004 he appeared in Saved and most recently Sex and Breakfast (2007). None of the three brought him the fame he experienced as a child. Macauley does not seem to mind the departure from fame and stardom. He values his privacy. With the exception of an occasional experimental gig, Culkin stays out of the limelight and enjoys his monthly party night which features a themed format and his disc jockeying talents. When asked to interview about his current status, he declines and chooses to keep his personal life private.
