Lopez’s acting career started when he was young and 1984 was the year that Lopez began acting and had been cast in several television series, such as “a.k.a. Pablo” and “Kids Incorporated”. He made a guest appearance on the television sitcom “The Golden Girls” as a young Cuban boy facing deportation. He received a small part in the big screen movie “Colors” in 1988 and it was in 1989 that he was cast as A.C. Slater on the popular television show “Saved by the Bell”. This role was steady for five (5) years.

Lopez starred in the made for television movie “Breaking the Surface” in 1997 where he played Greg Louganis (an Olympic diver). The following years, he secured the role as Bobby Cruz on the TV series “Pacific Blue”.

Mario Lopez graduated from high school in 1991. His sport of choice during that time was wrestling and he placed second in the San Diego Section and placed seventh in the entire state of California. He is from Mexican descent and was raised in a large family that practiced Catholicism and attended church services on a regular basis.

After a long six year courtship, Mario married Ali Landry, on April 24, 2004 and the marriage was annulled within two weeks.

He then dated his dance partner (from Dancing with the Stars) for a couple of years (between 2006 and 2008), but they never married.

Lopez married again in 2012 and wed Courtney Mazza. Together, they have a son, Dominic and a daughter, Gia.
