Larry’s big break was in 2000 after being invited on Jeff Foxworthy’s “Blue Collar Comedy tour”. Thanks to this tour, and 2 CD’s following it, Larry made his fortune through comedy which is not a common trait in the comedic industry. Larry got his big break and instead of taking the money and running he has stuck around to bring more tears of laughter to our eyes and voice acting in animated movies.

About Larry The Cable Guy

Larry is a self-made millionaire who most works are in comedy but, Larry also has a personal life. Larry has been married since 2005 to Cara Whitney. Larry and Cara have 2 children together. Their son, Wyatt Whitney, who was born in August 2006 and their daughter, Reagen Whitney, who was born in October 2007.

Along with comedy, Larry has a line of merchandise you can buy directly from his website which helps his career and his fortune. Some of the things on Larry’s merchandise line include t-shirts, hats, knives, and lighters among other things.

It’s not hard to come to the conclusion that Larry is a “Redneck” and he makes sure that you’re aware of it. His comedy style has a lot to do with southern life, being a redneck, and family. One of the reasons Larry’s comedy is to successful is due to his relatable style. Jokes about a common understanding will put the listener into the situation, they may have even been in that situation before. The listener will be able to look back at their past experiences and find a bright side or a new point-of-view to make them laugh.

Like the tour that got him famous – Larry has a sort of blue collar worker demeanor about him, which also allows for him to connect to his audience in ways that other comedians cannot. Going to see Larry live is like watching a fellow worker get up on stage and talk about your life and the things you and your friends do during a weekend and turn it into a hilarious hour special.

You may have known Larry since 2006 and never noticed. Remember your favorite tow truck from the Disney movie cars? That’s right, Larry was the wonderful voice behind Mater in Cars (2006), Cars 2 (2011), and possibly will be the voice of Mater in Cars 3.

Also in 2006 Larry was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Comedy Album” for his album “The Right to Bare Arms” (2005). While Larry did not win that Grammy, a year later in 2007 Larry won a Visual Effects award for Outstanding Performance by an Animated Character in an Animated Motion Picture for the movie Cars.
