Axl Rose net worth History
W Axl Rose as he decided to call himself made the majority of his net worth as a singer, most notably with the heavy metal group Guns N’ Roses. Axl Rose left Lafayette to move to Los Angeles in 1982, and eventually formed Gun N’ Roses in 1986.
Appetite For Destruction is the cornerstone of both Axl Rose’s and the other original members of Guns N’ Roses net worth. On the back of singles such as Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child o’ Mine became the best selling debut album of all time. Thus far it has sold 30 million copies across the globe, which 18 million copies in the United States, and sales continue to grow. Though this opus has brought fame and fortune to all the members that played on it yet it also caused arguments and legal wranglings too.
The two double length follow up albums released at the same time in 1991, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II have sold a further combined 35 million copies. The best selling singles from them were You Could Be Mine (featured in in the film Terminator 2) and November Rain.
Axl Rose has not exactly been productive since the end of the seemingly never ending Use Your Illusion world tour. Guns N’ Roses have only released two albums since Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II. These were The Spaghetti Incident? and Chinese Democracy, with a 15 year gap between them (1993 and 2008 respectively). Guns N’ Roses have made Axl Rose a very wealthy man without actually making him a happy man.
All About Axl Rose
At birth his name was actually William Bruce Rose Jr, and after his mother remarried he was named William Bruce Bailey. He later reverted back to Rose, yet did not learn about his real father until he was a teenager (he did not know his father had been murdered in 1984 until a few years later).
Both his father and stepfather were abusive, and that abuse has contributed to the problems he has faced throughout his life. Axl Rose used music to escape his problems and unhappiness, and found that he had a really extensive vocal range, and became an accomplished piano player in his own right.
To begin with at least he had a good relationship with the other founding members of Guns N’ Roses, Izzy Stradlin’, Slash, Duff McKagen, and Steve Adler. However his relationships with the others steadily got worse and they were either fired or left the band long before the eventual release of Chinese Democracy.
In terms of personal life Axl Rose was briefly married between 1990 and 1991 to Erin Everly. He had written Sweet Child O’ Mine about her. Their marriage was fragile from the start and after Erin suffered a miscarriage divorce was the inevitable conclusion to it. Aside from the people that he works with Axl Rose is a virtual recluse and wants to be left alone.
