She became the next young rnb star with the release of this hit cd.
After the release of her self titled debut, she tried her hand at acting again. This time she had more success when she starred on the hit show Moesha. The show revolved around her character and her life with her family and friends. The show lasted several seasons before it was canceled.
In 1997, Norwood’s dream came true. She wanted to meet Whitney Houston and that happened. She was personally picked for the role of Cinderella by Whitney Houston. Brandy had the opportunity to work with Houston because she was in the movie as well as one of the producers for it. The special was a success because 60 million people watched it. It was one of the most successful specials at that time.
While Brandy was filming Moesha, she recorded her second cd titled Never Say Never. This was a monster hit for the singer/actress. It sold over 16 million copies.
