Cee Lo Green has made much of his fortune in the music industry. With his uniquely high-pitched singing voice he has the ability to catch the listeners’ attention. In the 1990’s Cee Lo, along with Big Gipp, T-Mo and Khujo, started the hip hop group Goodie Mob. The group released its first album, Soul Food, in 1995. He left the group during the making of their World Party album but continued to collaborate with them through the 1990’s.In 2002 Cee Lo began his solo career which didn’t net him much success at first. However his song “What Part of Forever” was included on the Twilight Saga:Eclipse soundtrack. In 2006 Cee Lo teamed up with Danger Mouse to form the group Gnarls Barkley. They released their first album St Elsewhere and the first single “Crazy” became a hit all over the world. It was named Rolling Stone’s number one song of the decade and was also on the magazine’s list of top 100 songs ever. Cee Lo has also had success on the television show The Voice, starring alongside Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine. He had been a judge on the show for several seasons. Cee Lo has worked on numerous other acting projects including guest starring on the show Anger Management. He’s worked on several movie projects including: Hotel Transylvania, Kung Fu Panda, and X-Men First Class. His song “Forget You” was also a hit in 2010 and garnered him 5 Grammy nominations, 2 of which he won. Cee Lo has also endorsed products from several companies including: 7-Up, Duracell and M&M’s. Cee Lo Green was born Thomas DeCarlo Calloway in Atlanta, Georgia in 1974. His parents were both ministers so he spent much of his youth singing in church. Cee Lo lost both of his parents at a young age. His father died when he was two and he lost his mother when he was 18. Around that time he was just beginning to work with Goodie Mob and he wrote many songs about his mother and the pain he experienced from her loss. He has two daughters, Sierra and Kalah, from his former marriage to Christina Johnson. They divorced in 2005. He also has a son, Kingston. Cee Lo has spent much of his later career making various guests appearances and even performing with Madonna in the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show. In 2014 he stared in his first reality show Cee Lo Green’s The Good Life where he is again joined with Goodie Mob. Cee Lo has had a few issues with legal matters. In 2012 he was accused of sexual battery where he pleaded not guilty and no charges were filed on the battery. He did however plead no contest to a felony count of furnishing ecstasy and was sentenced to three years’ probation, community service and to complete 52 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
